PAY GRADE: Public Safety Step Plan (SO3) SAFETY SENSITIVE: Yes; Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance. Purpose of Job The purpose of this job is to provide exemplary leadership associated with and assisting in directing the overall operation of the Sheriff’s Department at the unit, field, or jail level. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Lieutenant and/or Captain in the daily operation of leading and coordinating assigned personnel in the respective assigned area of responsibility as well as the enforcement of laws/ordinances; building trust and confidence internally with all personnel; building trust and confidence within the community; planning, organizing, staffing, directing,...
