Job Description The City of Naperville has an opportunity for a Chief Building Official (CBO) who will lead, train, oversee and guide the work of the Plans Examiner and Building Inspection Teams in the Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) Business Group. These teams are responsible for reviewing and inspecting the City’s commercial and residential building permits as well as interpreting building codes and making recommendations on interpretations The CBO provides leadership and supervision to the Plans Examiners and Building Inspectors.   The CBO works closely with the Deputy Director of the Building and Code Enforcement Division as well as the Permit Manager, Code Enforcement Supervisor and other City departments.
